Recognizing and commemorating LGBTIQ+ Equality at Ring the Bell
|
Stock exchanges across 14 countries joined the first-ever Ring the Bell for LGBTIQ+ Equality initiative throughout May. The initiative also emphasized the commemoration of the International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia designated each year on 17 May. Spearheaded by a coalition of global partners including the UN Global Compact, UN Human Rights (OHCHR), UN Sustainable Stock Exchanges initiative (UN SSE) and Koppa - The LGBTI+ Economic Power Lab, the campaign calls for inclusive economies and equal rights for LGBTIQ+ people. This global action signals rising leadership accountability and the business case for dignity, inclusion and economic empowerment for all.

East Asia’s path to gender equality: New report highlights family-friendly practices and male allyship
|
The UN Global Compact and the Philippine Permanent Mission to the UN convened a high-level dialogue on 2 May in Makati City, engaging companies from the Global Compact Network Philippines on mobilizing private financing and partnerships for the SDGs. The session emphasized the business case for inclusive growth, showing how purpose-driven companies drive long-term value while closing development gaps. The UN Global Compact and national partners committed to translating these insights into action, reinforcing the private sector’s role in shaping a more resilient and equitable future. The session highlighted opportunities for business-led impact as the Philippines advances toward upper middle-income country status by 2026.
