Driving Business Action at London Climate Action Week 2026
|
The UN Global Compact had a strong presence at London Climate Action Week 2026, convening business, finance and policy leaders to accelerate credible private sector climate action. Across a series of high-level events and bilateral engagements, we advanced priorities on the energy transition, net-zero implementation and sustainable finance, while strengthening partnerships with companies, investors and international organizations. A key milestone was the launch of Business-Led Blended Finance: A Practical Playbook, the first practical guide helping companies take a leading role in structuring blended finance transactions to unlock investment for sustainable development. The week also saw the UN Global Compact and UNEP FI convene global stakeholders to expand the Ocean Investment Protocol, bringing central banks and financial regulators into the framework to better integrate ocean-related risks and opportunities into financial decision-making. Together, these initiatives reinforced the UN Global Compact's leadership in mobilizing business to deliver scalable, market-based solutions to the world's climate and sustainable development challenges.
