Breaking barriers: The continued push for gender equity in business
|
March brings several gender equity-related events and initiatives. These actions work to advance Sustainable Development Goal 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls. Corporate action on gender equality through initiatives like Forward Faster, the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) and a new male allyship campaign and e-learning course allow businesses to integrate gender-responsive business practices through their interactive fundamentals. By leveraging these tools, companies can unlock economic opportunities and foster inclusive, sustainable growth.

A new chapter in the Decent Work Toolkit for Sustainable Procurement
|
The UN Global Compact is advancing sustainable procurement with responsible contracts that embed human rights protections into global supply chains. Businesses can drive meaningful change by shifting from traditional contracts to due diligence-aligned agreements. To support this transition, the Decent Work Toolkit for Sustainable Procurement is now available. It helps companies, procurement professionals and suppliers align purchasing decisions with decent work principles. Together, we can scale efforts to improve lives and create more responsible supply chains worldwide.

The 2025 Peer Learning Groups will focus on six priority issue tracks, in alignment with our Forward Faster initiative — just transition, gender equality, living wage, water resilience, sustainable finance and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Participants will learn about the latest best practices in a trusted, regulated environment.
Begins April 2025 and onwards (please check the exact start dates with your Country Network).
Companies of all sizes and levels of advancement are encouraged to apply.
Available on a first come, first serve basis.

Registration open for the Climate Ambition Accelerator 2025
|
The Climate Ambition Accelerator aims to scale-up credible climate action across companies of varying sizes, sectors and regions. Through Global Compact Country Networks, companies will gain access to best practices, peer-to-peer learning opportunities, practical activities, capacity building and on-demand training.
Participants must be affiliated with, or joining the UN Global Compact.
Programme is 6 months.
